China has promised to reward top 50 students in the upcoming national examinations in Somalia.
The Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu will reward the students financially.
According to the Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires, the top students will receive financial rewards ranging from $400 to $1,000 each.
Charge d’Affaires Chen Wendi stated that the financial rewards are China’s recognition of the historically solid relations between both nations.
He announced the establishment of the China-Somalia Friendship Student Award Program for 2024 National Examination.
Wendi added that the Embassy will rely on rankings issued by the Ministry of Education.
Around 37,000 students will sit for the national exams on June 22.
