Finland commends Saadia Samatar for playing a crucial role in promoting the rights of girls and women in Somalia.
Samatar is the First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House).
She held a meeting with a delegation from Finland’s Development Policy Committee on Thursday.
Members of the Development Policy Committee expressed great delight at the opportunity they got to meet the First Deputy Speaker.
They mentioned the role she plays in inspiring Somali girls and women around the country.
Samatar is the most senior woman serving in the Somali parliament.
