Somalia’s Foreign Minister Ahmed MoFiqi has officially announced the resolution of the diplomatic conflict with Ethiopia.
While announcing this on Thursday, Fiqi emphasized Somalia’s diplomatic maturity as a key factor in achieving this breakthrough.
The minister highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration in regional affairs, rejecting opposition criticisms of the agreement as “undiplomatic.”
This resolution marks a significant step in strengthening relations between the two neighboring nations, who have been at loggerheads since January 1, 2024.
The diplomatic tiff between them started when Ethiopia signed a direct seaport access with Somaliland, a move Somalia labelled a breach of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
