Doha, Qatar — Somalia’s Minister of Defence, Ahmed Mohamed Fiqi, who is currently on a working visit to Qatar, paid a visit to the Somali Embassy in Doha on Wednesday.
Fiqi was warmly welcomed by Somalia’s Ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Mohamed Sheikh Doodishe, alongside senior diplomats and embassy staff. During his visit, the minister was briefed on the embassy’s day-to-day operations and its efforts to serve the Somali community residing in Qatar.
Amb. Doodishe highlighted the progress made in improving consular services and supporting Somali citizens with legal, administrative, and diplomatic matters.
In his remarks, Fiqi expressed appreciation for the team’s commitment and professionalism, commending the embassy’s role in enhancing Somalia’s representation and fostering strong bilateral relations with Qatar.
He encouraged the diplomats to continue their diligent work to further bolster ties between the two countries and provide quality support to the Somali diaspora.
Fiqi’s visit underscores Somalia’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with Qatar as part of its broader strategy to strengthen regional partnerships.
