Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, addressed the media at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu after returning from New York.
During the press briefing, he responded to a no-confidence motion filed by lawmakers, challenging the validity of the allegations made against him.
Fiqi emphasized his respect for the role of parliament in maintaining checks and balances.
He further expressed optimism about an upcoming meeting with lawmakers, scheduled for Sunday night, where he hoped to resolve the issue.
The foreign affairs minister also maintained that the claims against him lacked accuracy.
