Several Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Somaliland have no homes or accommodation of any kind after a fire razed the camp they were staying in.
The Thursday incident saw a makeshift camp reduced to smoke.
Consequently, over 200 tents were destroyed in the fire that also consumed beds, utensils, pieces of furniture, and clothes.
Strong summer winds also ensured that the fire spread quickly around the camp before authorities could respond to put it out.
Local officials said the government sent 12 fire trucks and 80 fire brigades to the scene to try to put the fire out but they were unable to do that.
More than 85 percent of the residents at the IDP camp are now without shelter.
Authorities continue investigating the causes of the fire although witnesses suspected that it started when one house made of plastic, straw, and sticks caught fire.
