The first batch of Somali students have been evacuated from war-torn Sudan.
Somali government evacuated the students on Thursday.
They will travel to Ethiopia first before making their way to Somalia at the government’s cost.
Ambassador Abdirahman Noor Mohamed Dinaari confirmed this development.
Amb. Dinaari is the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also doubles as the coordinator of the government-appointed committee to evacuate Somali students from Sudan.
Dinaari added that 50 students have already been taken to Ethiopia to await onward travel to Somalia.
