Five Somali nationals froze to death along the border between Greece and Turkey on February 2, 2022.
According to sources, the five were among 12 people whose bodies were found along the Greece-Turkey border late last week.
A statement from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) dated February 9 shows that five of the 12 were Somali nationals.
The five have been identified as Abdi Mahdi Ali, Yahye Jamal Mumin, Abubakar Ahmed Ibrahim, Nasir Suleman Hassan, and Najah Abdi Ahmed.
Consequently, the Somali government has called for investigations to establish the cause of the deaths.
