Football matches have resumed in Somalia despite the growing fears of the novel Coronavirus pandemic around the country.
The Federal Government of Somalia had suspended football matches in the country three months ago, as COVID-19 numbers kept increasing.
However, on Wednesday this week, Abdiqani Said Arab, the President of the Somali Football Federation (SFF), announced that football is scheduled to resume from Thursday.
Somalia becomes the second country in the region to lift the ban on football matches and resume domestic season after Tanzania.
The announcement followed the earlier confirmation by the government of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo to allow the resumption of all sports in the country.
