Foreign Affairs Minister Receives New Denmark Ambassador’s Credentials

Balal Mohamed Osman received credentials from the new Denmark Ambassador to Somalia on November 4.

Ole Thonke is the new Ambassador of Denmark to Somalia.

On Wednesday, he submitted his credentials to Osman, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in Mogadishu.

Ole Thonke handed his credentials over to the new minister a day after submitting them to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of the Federal Government of Somalia.

The new diplomat has served in a similar role in various destinations around the world.

He has been the Danish Ambassador to Pakistan and Kenya.

Thonke has also headed several departments of his country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These include Growth and Employment, Green Diplomacy, and Consular.

He brings a wealth of experience to his new post in Mogadishu.
