Foreign diplomats in Mogadishu have expressed growing concerns over escalating tensions between the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the Jubbaland State administration.
The diplomats urged both sides to engage in inclusive dialogue to resolve disagreements, particularly regarding the electoral process.
Diplomats emphasized the importance of Jubaland rejoining the National Consultative Council (NCC) discussions to ensure a unified and transparent approach to national elections.
They called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid any unilateral decisions before finalizing the electoral framework.
This development highlights the ongoing challenges in achieving cohesion among Somalia’s federal states and the central government, particularly on issues related to political representation and power-sharing.
Inclusive dialogue is seen as crucial to preventing further division and fostering national unity.
