Ahmed Duale Geelle Haaf, the immediate former President of Galmudug State, visited Galkayo City for a brief visit in the middle of a raging political row.
His tour of Galkayo comes shortly after he visited Dhusamareb this week to meet his successor.
According to sources, Haaf’s visit of Galkayo was necessitated by the fruitless meeting he had with President Qoor Qoor, his successor as the leader of Galmudug State.
The two visits come in the midst of a long political dispute in the region.
Several stakeholders have tried to convince Haaf of the importance of handing power peacefully and smoothly to the new leader.
President Qoor Qoor, the new leader, operates from Dhusamareb, where his inauguration is expected to take place.
Galmudug State has endured prolonged political disputes and rivalry since its creation arising out of the deep distrust between its political leaders.
