Former Interior Security Minister Elected MP in Beledweyne Elections

A former Minister of Interior Security has been elected a Member of Parliament (MP) in Beledweyne elections.

Abdirizak Omar, the ex-minister in the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), won the elections that took place in Beledweyne, HirShabelle on March 24.

He won the polls a day after a deadly terror attack that killed Amina Mohamed, one of the MPs from Beledweyne.

All contestants in Thursday’s polls wore red headbands in solidarity with the 20 people who lost their lives on Wednesday.
