The bodies of the murdered children of a former lawmaker were discovered in Baidoa on April 8.
Sheikh Aweys Abdullahi’s children reportedly went missing on April 7.
Apparently, they were brutally killed before their bodies were dumped on the outskirts of the city.
The children were on their way to Quranic school when they went missing.
After discovering that his daughter and son, aged 5 and 6 years respectively, went missing, Abdullahi conducted a search for them at various places.
He visited local hospitals until Thursday morning when their bodies were discovered at a thicket.
Eyewitnesses said that the children’s bodies had stab wounds.
Unconfirmed reports show that their livers might have been removed too.
Police in the capital of the Southwest state have launched investigations into the matter with the aim of identifying and apprehending those responsible for the deaths.
