Former Prime Minister Apologizes to Wadajir Party Leader on 2017 Raid

Hassan Ali Khaire, the immediate former Prime Minister of Somalia, has apologized to the leader of opposition Wadajir Party.

Khaire made the apology on Friday, November 20 when he met Abdirahman Abdishakur, the Wadajir Party leader.

The former Prime Minister visited Abdishakur at his residence in Mogadishu.

Khaire admitted that the state was wrong to raid Abdishakur’s residence on December 17, 2017.

During the attack four years ago, National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) officers killed Abdishakur’s bodyguards.

Abdishakur was left wounded.

Recently, Abdishakur spoke about the incident when condemning the appointment of a former spy chief into the cabinet as the new Minister of Justice.

Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama, who led the raid at the party headquarters in 2017, was recently appointed Minister of Justice by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
