A former regional leader in Somalia has been stopped from boarding a plane at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden was unable to board his flight to Baidoa.
He was expected to travel on March 6 to Baidoa to vie in the ongoing elections for federal parliamentary seats.
The incident followed the recent similar one by authorities to block Abdiweli Mudey from traveling to Barawe.
Mudey is the outgoing Deputy Speaker of the House of the People.
Nevertheless, the Ministry of Interior denied reports that Aden had been blocked from boarding his flight and traveling for the elections.
According to the interior ministry, authorities cleared Aden together with his security detail.
