A former Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF) chief, Maj. General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhiyidin, who was fired in November 2024 for incompetence, has said that Al-Shabaab militants and government troops are mixed up.

He made this claim on Saturday during an interview with a local television station.

During his tenure, there was constant reports of widespread corruption within the military, a situation that drove the United States to stop ration support to the elite Danab special forces.
