A former Prime Minister of Somalia who passed away in Jigjiga on Thursday had tested positive for COVID-19.
Local authorities from Ethiopia’s Somali region confirmed to the media that Ali Khalif Galaydh had tested positive for COVID-19 prior to his death.
With his death, Galaydh becomes the second ex-Prime Minister of Somalia to die from the virulent disease.
In April 2020, Nur Hassan Hussein, who is popularly known as Nur Adde, passed away in London while undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
