On Wednesday, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Somalia’s ex-President, called Ben Fender, the United Kingdom ambassador to Somalia, to talk about wide-ranging issues.
Some of the issue discussed includes the upcoming polls, expected to take place in the country towards the end of the year.
Further, the two leaders also spoke about the relationship between Federal Member States and the Federal Government of Somalia.
They also shared their views on COVID-19, which has hit the country hard with the Ministry of Health confirming more than 830 cases and 32 deaths.
Thus far, the UK Embassy in Somalia is yet to issue a statement or offer full details of the phone conversation between President Sharif and Ambassador Fender.
