Four People Quarantined in Puntland Test Negative for Coronavirus

Health officials have announced that the four people who had been placed under quarantine in Puntland have tested negative for Coronavirus.

According to the state health officials, the semi-autonomous state has proved its high level of preparedness in fighting the COVID-19.

The four were in a group of five people placed under isolation at Galdogob Center. President Said Deni Abdullahi’s administration has set aside Galdogob Center purely for isolation.

A statement issued by the committee tasked with monitoring the pandemic said the four negative tests ensure that the region has no positive confirmation until now.

The statement issued on April 1st read, “We are yet to confirm any positive COVID-19 case anywhere in Puntland State.”

Puntland State has received several face masks, test kits, and other medical consignments from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).

Jack Ma, a Chinese billionaire philanthropist, donated the medical consignments that Somalia and other African nations are using to battle COVID-19.
