Somaliland’s Sahil Province has recorded fresh cases of malaria, according to the breakaway region’s Ministry of Health.
According to the ministry, the number of malaria patients recorded this year is much higher compared to last year.
Dr. Bashir Dirie Jama, the Ministry of Health Regional Coordinator for Sahil Province, confirmed the new numbers on January 26.
As per Dr. Jama’s comments, the health ministry plans to act appropriately to control the further spread of the deadly disease.
Abdishakur Idin, the Mayor of Berbera City, declared that his administration would implement the measures needed to control the infectious disease.
