Fresh Northern Somalia Clashes Claimed 80 Lives Since January, Says WHO

An international organization says that fresh clashes in northern Somalia have claimed 80 Lives since January.

The World Health Organization (WHO) stated this in its latest report.

The clashes have been between security forces and local militia in Las Anod.

Apart from the deaths, WHO added that the clashes also displaced over 30,000 people over the last four months.

The clashes, which originally kicked off in December 2022, have led to the displacement of 154,000-203,000 people.

Clashes picked up again on February 6 after a brief period of rest.
