Fresh Police Officers from Nigeria and Sierra Leone Undergo ATMIS Induction

A fresh batch of police officers from Nigeria and Sierra Leone are currently undergoing induction training at the hands of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

The officers will receive induction training from the ATMIS Police Unit.

The mandatory training familiarizes them with the ATMIS mandate. It exposes them to standard operating procedures that are essential for the success of peacekeeping missions.

Their induction training kicked off on Saturday, October 28.

According to the AU and the United Nations, troops can never proceed with their tour of duty in peacekeeping operations before undergoing induction training.
