Dubai, United Arab Emirates – A high-level delegation led by Galmudug’s Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Abdullahi Kulmiye, held talks with officials and business representatives from Mina Al Hamriya Port in Dubai to deepen maritime cooperation and boost trade links between the two regions.
The discussions centered on enhancing the partnership between Mina Al Hamriya and Hobyo ports, with both sides recognizing Hobyo’s strategic importance as an emerging maritime hub on Somalia’s central coast. The meeting explored opportunities to expand the flow of goods, improve logistical networks, and attract private investment to support the development of Hobyo Port’s infrastructure and operational capacity.
Kulmiye praised the warm hospitality extended by the Dubai port authorities and underscored the value of sustained collaboration. He noted that closer ties with Mina Al Hamriya could help unlock new avenues for trade and economic growth in Galmudug, benefiting local communities and strengthening Somalia’s position in regional maritime trade.
The visit reflects Galmudug’s broader vision to modernize its ports and create reliable trade corridors that connect Somalia more effectively with Gulf and global markets.
