Dr. Mohamed Ga’al, the Speaker of Galmudug’s State Parliament, signed a deal with opposition lawmakers to settle their unpaid wages.
Speaker Ga’al met with the opposition legislators after the two sides visited Galmudug’s Vice President.
Ali Dahir Eid, the Vice President, had encouraged the two sides to meet before convening the meeting that took place at Dhusamareb, Galmudug’s administrative capital.
During the meeting, the two parties ironed out their differences.
They also spoke about the no confidence motion that the opposition lawmakers had filed against Speaker Ga’al.
Reports indicate that the legislators have not been paid for several months, an issue that they attribute to lack of support from Ga’al.
