Federal legislator Yusuf Geelle Ugas from the regional state of Galmudug has called upon Somali traditional elders to unite in rejecting Ethiopia’s attempts at annexation.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, the lawmaker praised President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s diplomatic efforts.
In his view, the President’s diplomatic efforts which have successfully convinced the international community to denounce Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s aspirations regarding Somali territory.
Ugas urged the Somali parliament to act with unity rather than division to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
