Galmudug parents presented a list containing the names of 30 youths taken to Eritrea for training in military warfare between 2019 and 2020.
The parents presented the list containing the names to Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Galmudug’s Minister of Security.
According to the parents, the 30 young men were taken to Eritrea by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Eventually, the youths were then sent to Ethiopia to help Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) to fight against Tigray rebels last year.
Last week, a former Deputy Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) claimed that over 370 Somali youths lost their lives in Tigray fighting the rebels last year.
While presenting the names to Fiqi in Galkayo on Thursday, the grieving parents said that they need their children “dead or alive.”
