The President of the regional state of Galmudug clashed with his Vice President over the counterterrorism operations carried out against Al-Shabaab.
President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor and Vice President Ali Dahir Eid do not see eye to eye on this matter.
Their differences played out in public when the Vice President accused Qoorqoor of playing a role in the failure of the counterterrorism operations in the region.
Vice President Dahir said that local offensives against the militia group have not been effective.
Dahir further accused Qoorqoor of undermining the operations and the forces undertaking them. However, President Qoorqoor hit back by denying Dahir’s accusations.
