The regional state of Galmudug is finally ready to hold elections for five House of the People (Lower House) seats.
Galmudug’s President Ahmed Abdi Karie Qoorqoor made this announcement on Thursday, November 18.
Elections for Lower House seats are set to kick off across all the regional states in Somalia this week.
While making the announcement, President Qoorqoor said that his regional state now waits for the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) to expedite the process.
Thus far, only Somaliland has kick-started the polls.
It held the polls for two seats where the Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Gulaid won one of the seats.
