Galmudug has announced that it would kick off elections for its House of the People (Lower House) seats on November 24.
Thus far, Somaliland remains the only region to have carried out its Lower House elections.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble gave the country up to the end of November 2021 to conclude the Lower House polls.
Galmudug will hold elections for only two seats first.
The Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) confirmed this development on November 22.
