Galmudug’s Elections for the Remaining Senatorial Seats Scheduled for Saturday

Galmudug is scheduled to hold elections for its remaining senatorial seats on Saturday.

The regional state already conducted partial elections for the senatorial seats but had never completed them.

Local administration has already released a list of the candidates for the remaining seats.

Galmudug’s President Ahmed Kariye Qoorqoor released the names on November 9.

He did so in answer to calls from within Somalia and the international community.

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had led the calls from stakeholders within the country.

Some of the contestants include Abdi Hassan Awale Qabydiid and Awil Nur Ali.

Others include Abdi Osman Hared and Mahad Adan Guled.

Galmudug held its first senatorial polls on August 18. The elections were for six senatorial seats.
