Dahir Mohamud Gelle has withdrawn from the upcoming presidential elections in Somalia. He pulled out on Saturday.
Gelle announced his withdrawal only a few hours to the elections, which are scheduled for Sunday, May 15.
While announcing his withdrawal via social media, Gelle thanked God and his supporters for standing by him all along.
He promised to continue contributing to the country’s politics.
Gelle expressed gratitude to the Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Lower House and Upper House for supporting his candidature too.
Finally, he urged legislators taking part in tomorrow’s vote to elect the best leader for Somalia.
