Germany Embassy has contributed €2 million towards the Somalia Humanitarian Fund (SHF) to help with humanitarian efforts in the country.
The Embassy, which operates from the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, announced these plans on Thursday September 3.
In 2020, the Embassy has supported SHF with €14 million in humanitarian funds.
The amount remains the highest from the Germany Embassy to Somalia to date. Further, it makes Germany the single largest contributor to SHF since 2017.
On its part, SHF expressed gratitude to the German government for retaining its position as the fund’s largest donor and most consistent supporter.
