Mogadishu, Somalia – The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) has conveyed its sincere gratitude for the generous hospitality and extraordinary welcome its delegation experienced during an official visit to the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The Council lauded the Somali leadership and citizens for their authenticity, transparency, and steadfast commitment to enhancing collaboration and establishing sincere partnerships dedicated to supporting Somalia’s forthcoming stability and progress.
In a declaration released during the visit, Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stated: “In Somalia, we discovered a nation emerging from deep crises and difficulties, yet resolutely resolved to restore normalcy and construct a future that embodies the ambitions of the Somali population and what they genuinely deserve in relation to advancement and security. The determination we observed both governmental and popular to surmount the consequences of previous conflicts and to advance beyond the remnants of war, demonstrates an authentic national resolve to turn the page and initiate a new chapter characterized by hope, labor, and reconstruction.”
Aljarwan underscored the dynamism witnessed throughout Mogadishu from bustling markets and busy ports to a progressively expanding airport characterizing them as unmistakable signs of Somalia’s increasing stability.
He mentioned that scenes of children playing despite the obstacles reflect an encouraging resilience toward life and advancement.
The President also recognized the Somali government’s considerable endeavors to facilitate everyday existence for visitors, investors, and official delegations, indicating a purposeful orientation toward openness and economic expansion.
The President confirmed that Somalia, with its abundant cultural legacy and strategic position in the Horn of Africa, is capable of serving as a significant contributor in promoting peace and advancement both regionally and internationally.
He expressed the Council’s profound trust in the capacity of the Somali government, parliament, civil society, and the broader public men and women alike to guide a transformative period of reconstruction that promises enduring prosperity.
The Global Council emphasized that Somalia is a nation that “cherishes peace, upholds peace, and requires peace,” pointing out that the global community equally needs Somalia’s robust and active participation within regional and global security formations.
The Council reiterated its dedication to working intimately with Somali counterparts to advance tolerance, broaden sustainable development, empower women and youth, and establish a stable state capable of offering significant opportunities for future generations.
