Gor-Gor Unit Intercepts Terrorist Plan, Confiscates Explosives in Lower Shabelle

Lower Shabelle, Somalia – The Gor-Gor Special Forces of the Somali National Army (SNA), working in collaboration with local community defense forces, conducted a precise security operation in the Number 50 area of Lower Shabelle.

The operation successfully disrupted a major terrorist plot planned by Al-Shabaab militants.

According to intelligence sources, a cell of around 10 individuals was moving explosive devices toward coastal regions with the aim of attacking SNA positions and interfering with stability initiatives.

Based on this intelligence, the combined forces confronted the militants briefly, effectively eliminating the danger. After the clash, security officials recovered 14 landmines, representing one of the biggest hauls of explosive materials in the region.

Additionally, authorities seized two motorcycles that the militants had been utilizing for their supply chain and transportation activities.

This operation showcases the improving capacity of the SNA to respond to intelligence and dismantle terrorist supply chains. The SNA remains dedicated to re-establishing peace, protecting civilians, and eradicating the danger from Al-Shabaab and their deployment of homemade explosive devices.
