The elite Gorgor commandos have been ordered to prepare for the second phase of counterterrorism operations.
Col. Bashir Omar Abdullahi instructed the commandos to get ready for the new wave of offensives against Al-Shabaab militants.
Gorgor comprises specially trained Somali National Army (SNA) forces.
Col. Abdullahi issues the fresh instructions on Saturday.
He asked the commandos to prepare for operations that seek to liberate areas around the country that remain under the control of Al-Shabaab militants.
