Gorgor Commandos Seize Medical Supplies for Militants in Lower Shabelle Operation

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Gorgor Commandos of the Somali National Army (SNA) conducted a series of strategic security operations throughout the Lower Shabelle region, yesterday. The offensive focused on areas known for insurgent activity, leading to the successful interception of logistical supplies destined for the Al-Shabaab terror group.

The main goal of the mission was to dismantle insurgent networks and restore security to rural communities affected by the group’s brutal tactics. During the sweep, the special forces discovered and confiscated a substantial quantity of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. Intelligence indicates that these supplies were being covertly transported to support militant units operating in the area.

The coordinated operations encompassed the villages of Godey, Guumeys diid, and Aybuutey, which are strategically situated within the Lower Shabelle region. Field reports suggest that the militants, unable to face the advancing firepower and tactical advantage of the Gorgor units, abandoned their positions and fled the area before the national forces arrived.

This operation marks another setback to the logistical capabilities of the terror group, severing essential supply lines used to sustain their fighters. The Somali National Army continues to intensify pressure on the insurgents, remaining steadfast in its objective to eliminate the threat of terrorism and ensure long-term stability for civilians in Lower Shabelle.
