The Somali Government, alongside representatives from the United Nations in Somalia and international partners from different countries met in Nairobi to discuss the constitutional review process.
Countries represented in the meeting included the United Kingdom, European Union, Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, Finland, Italy, Norway, and Canada.
They convened in the Kenyan capital to discuss Somalia’s Constitutional Review process and avenues for strengthening parliamentary support.
The provisional constitution is a fundamental component of Somalia’s national development agenda.
It is designed to foster inclusive governance, drive economic recovery, and support sustainable development.
By refining and finalizing the constitution, Somalia aims to solidify federalism, enhance political stability, and lay the groundwork for stronger institutions and equitable resource sharing.
This meeting underscores the commitment of Somalia and its partners to collaboration and capacity building, ensuring that the constitutional process addresses key challenges while reflecting the aspirations of all Somali citizens.
