Government Reopens a Strategic Road in Mogadishu

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) reopened a strategic highway in the heart of the capital city on Monday, October 26.

The highway links Tarabunka to KM-4.

It had been closed for the last 10 years after Turkey and Qatar opened their embassies in this part of Mogadishu.

In that time, residents have complained of massive inconveniences while trying to access or travel to their preferred destinations.

However, the government rethought its decision to close the road.

This took place after the Qatari embassy relocated to an undisclosed location in the city. Residents have welcomed the move.
