The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has urged Somalis in the country to contribute to the National Defense and Liberation Program.
The government, through the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, issued the call to all Somalis on Wednesday.
Daud Aweis, the information minister, said that a contribution of $1 by all Somalis towards the program would be quite helpful.
“President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called upon the people of Somalia to contribute a dollar each towards the defense and liberation program,” Aweis stated.
Aweis was speaking during his weekly press conference on the current developments and security in the East African nation.
