The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has expressed its delight over the decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to proceed with its maritime case against Kenya.
Osman Dubbe, the FGS Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, hailed the decision that was announced on February 13.
While commending ICJ for opting to proceed with the case, Dubbe said that the prayers of the people of Somalia are now with their lawyers.
He called the lawyers “the defenders of Somali’s seas” and territorial integrity.
For the last six years, Somalia has constantly accused Kenya of interfering with its territorial integrity; hence, the decision to file the maritime case with ICJ in 2015.
