Government’s COVID-19 Medical Support to Jubaland Arrives in Kismayo

A delegation of top government officials, led by staff from the Prime Minister’s Office, arrived at Kismayo with a donation of medical supplies.

The supplies are designed to help the leadership of Jubaland to test and curb the spread of COVID-19 in the region.

Although Jubaland State has initiated a comprehensive COVID-19 response, it needs the support of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).

Mursal Khalif, Jubaland’s Minister of Health, was at the Sayid Mohamed Abdullah Hassan International Airport in Kismayo to receive the consignment.

Khalif expressed his gratitude to the federal government for the medical supplies, and for the continued support in combating COVID-19 in not only the state but also the entire country.

Even though the visit was brief, government officials managed to tour facilities and health centers in Kismayo dedicated to treating and testing COVID-19.
