The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is interested in financing education in Somalia.
GPE said this on Friday through Charles North, who is its Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
North offered this assurance when he held discussions with Dr. Elmi M. Nur.
Dr. Nur is the Somali Minister of Finance.
They met in Washington where the minister traveled on official visit.
Dr. Nur and North agreed on the critical role that education plays in advancing sustainable development in the country.
The minister assured North of the government’s commitment to raising domestic resources to finance education in Somalia.
