Journalists in Somalia are up in arms following the brutal murder of their colleague in Mogadishu.
Abdiwali Ali Hassan was died after unknown gunmen shot him in Afgoye Town. They shot him severally on the head and chest.
At the time of his killing, Hassan was on his way home from work.
The Somali Journalists’ Syndicate says they are yet to identify who might have been behind the murder of one of their own.
Al-Shabaab has been active in the area for a while. However, Hassan’s radio station is renowned for its heavy criticism of the government.
Recently, his reports focused on the operations of the Somalia army. Last year, the journalist received multiple death threats.
