Gunmen shot and killed one of Somalia’s veteran freelance journalists in Galkayo on March 1.
Jamal Farah Adan, a 56-year old journalist, was accosted, shot, and killed in the town on Monday evening.
After killing Adan, the unidentified gunmen then fled from the scene of their crime.
Local authorities confirmed the incident and said that they have launched investigations into the matter.
The incident is the latest against journalists in Somalia, which has been ranked as one of the most dangerous places for members of the fourth estate.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for Adan’s shocking murder.
