On Saturday night, gunmen shot and wounded a civilian in Mogadishu. At the time of the incident, the gunmen were in military attire.
Abdirisaq Ahmed Ibrahim was shot in Hodan District, which is administratively under the Baradir Region.
Ibrahim said people who wanted to rob him of his mobile phone shot him. When he refused to heed to their demands, they shot him.
Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, the victim’s brother, said they suspect the gunmen work for government security forces.
Somali police are yet to confirm the reports.
In recent times, Mogadishu has struggled with an upsurge in attacks and killings, as the Federal Government of Somalia seeks to restore security and order in its capital city.
