Hand Grenade Thrown at Finance Ministry’s Offices in Borama

Security officials in Somaliland stated that a hand grenade was thrown at the Ministry of Finance’s offices in Borama.

According to the officials, the incident took place on Wednesday night.

The officials carried out investigations that determined that a hand grenade was hurled at the compound where the finance ministry’s offices are located.

However, there were no injuries or fatalities.

Nevertheless, property of unknown value was destroyed during the incident that left the workers shocked when they arrived at the offices the following day.

The unidentified attackers then left the scene immediately the grenade exploded.

The explosion took place at a time of increased political temperatures in the country after a renowned traditional regional leader was denied access to the town.

The decision by the government to prevent the elder from entering the town sparked massive protests and running battles between the police and members of the public.

Authorities are yet to comment on this week’s incident at the finance ministry offices.
