Tax personnel in Hargeisa were trained how to use online tools for registering taxpayers on December 9.
During Thursday’s training, the personnel were also shown how to help taxpayers to file their returns online.
Somaliland’s Inland Revenue Department has introduced digital systems to improve efficiency in taxpayer administration, registration, and services.
The Internal Revenue Department said, “Through the new digital systems, tax officials would now be able to register taxpayers and update their details easily.”
Somaliland’s Ministry of Finance Development is undertaking a modernization project on all its tax administration services.
It has received support from Prosperity from Revenue (PROFR), a United Kingdom-funded organization.
The Oxford Policy Management is in charge of implementing the project on behalf of the finance development ministry.
