Upper House Speaker Abdi Hashi and Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Gulaid have jointly released the names of candidates for the upcoming senatorial elections in Somaliland.
Speaker Hashi and Deputy Prime Minister Gulaid published these names on September 21.
This is a huge development in ensuring that Somaliland also has its representatives in the Upper House when the new session resumes soon.
The differences between Hashi and Gulaid had created a vacuum in leadership after creating a rift in the electoral team that’s supposed to handle the indirect polls.
However, they decided to bury the hatchet a week ago.
