Officials from Somalia’s Ministry of Health visited different parts of the country to assess COVID-19 response.
They were in the company of representatives from the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) during the October 1 assessment.
The officials visited Mogadishu, Garowe, and Samareeb.
Senior government officials who attended the function included the Deputy Minister of Health.
Together with other civil servants, they received a briefing on the status of the country’s COVID-19 response from the team appointed to take care of that issue.
The results of the assessment would be used in improving Somalia’s response to the pandemic that continues to wreck havoc in the country.
